lose the heavy junk on your key chains
One of our customers even had a small can of MACE on the key-ring but the point is this:
LOSE THE JUNK BECAUSE ITS' WEIGHT WEARS OUT THE IGNITION SWITCH.

I’ve changed out ignition switches because heavy key-chains wore out the tumblers. It’s an expensive, time-consuming process that involved the dealer reprogramming the IMMOBILIZER in the new keys. A new key, switch and labor is $250-$450 or more.
Modern cars have computer chips in the key, or in the FOB and they recognize the car and once confirmed the key is legitimate, the immobilizer allows the car to start. If you have worn out tumblers this process fails and the car won’t start. Of course a ‘push-to-start’ ignition doesn’t apply but all others do. Only carry a few keys and FOB.( if immobilizer is not in the key)
